Isn't it time for something new?

We are all guilty of sticking with what we know. Whether it be at a restaurant, book genres, or the makeup we put on; we're sticklers for familiarity. I want to challenge you all to add some spice to your lives this next week and take the Read Something New challenge! Read a new genre, a new author, whatever—just read something new. To help, here is a list of genres. We've featured an author and one of their books or series for each genre. Hope you find something you like!

Urban Fantasy
D. F. Krieger, Panthers in the Playground, Faxfire Series Book 1
Zoologist Dr. Zeara Faxfire and her side-kick cat, Magic, are called in to help when a panther is discovered during a police investigation. What is a girl to think, though, when the parents of a missing child keep calling her and the panther in question is writing words? Detective Jake Markovich, who is assigned to the case as well and happens to believe in the paranormal is a whole different distraction that turns Zeara's world upside down. Can she lose her grasp on the safety of logic long enough to reach out to those asking for her help?

The only thing Zeara knows for sure is that time is running out, and she must compromise a job she adores to save the panther in her care.

#TantalizingTuesday - Her First House

There are many more tantalizing teasers to enjoy, you just need to visit the blog.

Sophia exited the carriage first. She left the trunks to Terrance and Nicholas, making her way directly to the door. Terrance stood behind her with the first trunk while she caressed the handle of the door.
It is the first time I've had a house,” she told him. Pulling, she swung the door open.
It was unfurnished. Terrance had placed orders for beds, settees, wardrobes chairs...plenty of everything. The lanterns were lit, the sun having set a few minutes before. Terrance had requested the crew light them as they left for the night. They would be back when the furniture arrived.
It's perfect,” Sophia said, stepping through the rather small entry way and turning down the main hall. Terrance left his trunk on the spot and followed her.
The parlor,” he said opening a door. “I plan to have a portrait made for that wall.” He pointed. “All the rooms are the same, all small.” He opened door after door down the hall. Each was a square of space with a small closet attached. At the end of the hall, they entered the dining area and kitchen. If the house were full, it could hold eight to twelve people.

Saturday #afterdark - Mother and Daughter

If you missed it, this is more of Irene and Owen's story. Make sure you visit the blog to read all the afterdark moments.

Irene stirred the pot, scowling in anger.
"You look horrid when you do that," her mother teased, tossing roots into the pot. "You look thirty with all those lines on your face."
Her mother laughed, high and bubbling, infectious. As much as Irene wanted to hold onto her gloom, her mother's laugh wouldn't allow it. She spluttered before giggling with her.
"There, much better. Tell me, dove, what is bothering you?"
Irene's shoulders slumped and she said, "Why does he have to stay with us." As soon as she'd said it, she straightened and covered her mouth. She was whining like a girl of six. Her forehead creased again. "I know I hurt him, but he is well now. Why doesn't he go?"
"You want him to go?" her mother asked, bustling around the cook fire. "I've seen the way you look at him."

“Keep your head down.”

Kevin resisted the urge to look over his shoulder, but not the smile spreading across his face. He felt another hard, masculine body behind him. Strong hands slid over his ribs, stretched down over the ridges of his abs.

“What do you see?” Sam asked.

Kevin’s cock twitched up, brushing the white fingertips that reached for it.

“White on black.”

“What else?” Sam asked, nestling his cock between Kevin’s cheeks and kissing his neck and . “I see a big black cock.”

“Yes.”

“More cock than white can hide. More than white can handle.”

“You'll manage.”

Blog Tour for Blue Moon House: Kitten

So, I haven't talked about it much, but the first prequel to Blue Moon House is coming out! Regular followers of this blog will have read Jocelyn's stories, recognize Will as her Master, and maybe already be curious about the prequel.

If you aren't a regular on the blog and want to know what Kitten is all about, this is the back blurb:
Jocelyn considers herself sexually experienced, a leader and manipulator. She is looking for the next challenge. The rumors surrounding Blue Moon House sound like just the thing she's looking for. Losing her roommate to marriage, she also needs a new place to stay. Hoping to find both in the same entity, she follows the rumors to their source and finds much more than she bargained for, beginning with a discovery that defies her biological science background - vampires.

But what you really want to do is visit these tour stops! On almost every one of them I have provided an excerpt, and they're all different. You can read most of the first two chapters just by popping around and reading them all. Hopefully it will whet your appetite for more from Blue Moon House. #TantalizingTuesday - Sunset at sea

Remember to read all the tantalizing teasers by visiting the blog.

Kate looked a hundred times better, pink in her cheeks. She clung to the deck rail, however, tightly enough to turn her knuckles white. Sophia was at her side, though Terrance couldn't make out much more of either in the fading light. There were lamps secured to each mast, but the glow of each didn't reach the rails. He couldn't see Lynn or Nicholas, and only spied a few dark spots that were likely sailors in the rigging.
Better?” Terrance asked Kate.
Yes, much. Still...bad, but not horrible.” She took one hand from the rail to hold her stomach.
Lynn and Nicholas?” Terrance asked Sophia.
They've found a secluded corner. If you take Kate below, I'll join them.”
Kate shook her head. “Not yet.”
I'll stay with her,” Terrance promised, stepping closer.
Sophia sighed gratefully. “Thank you. It has been a long and somewhat painful day. I'm going to take some pleasure in what is left of it.”
Painful?” he asked Kate.
The sun,” she answered. “Even with hats and parasols, it burns them. Not unbearably, but definitely uncomfortable.”
Oh.” Terrance felt shame for pushing them out of the house.

Saturday #afterdark - Need to Kill

I'm going to use the next couple of AfterDark moments to fill out a story that got some good attention when I posted the first flash back in February. Here is a little bit of the younger Irene and Owen before he had won her over.
Stockvault.net

"Irene! Come back!"
Mother could shout all she wanted, Irene wasn't coming back. Her father had all but sworn he would sell her off to a neighbouring clan in trade for peace. How dare he! She was no object, no commodity. She ran to her hiding place.
The rocks were once an altar to a long forgotten God. She sent a prayer to him as she retrieved her bow, a long knife and small bundle of cloth. The fire of her hair was nothing to the heat in her blood, the need to kill something. Continuing to sprint, she ran until village, huts and even her rock cairn were far behind her. Once safely off the plain and in the shrubby trees on the edge of the forest, she strung her bow and tried to calm her breathing.
She needed to kill something and woe to the first animal that crossed her path. Knocking and arrow, she stood very still, waiting for the life around her to forget her presence. She wasn't a patient girl, but she knew that waiting was a large part of hunting.
A twig snapped to her left and she whirled, loosing the arrow as soon as spied the movement. She missed, the arrow rustling into the leaf litter before stopping.
Irene frowned, cocking another arrow and watching. She hadn't been able to make out her prey, but surely it would move again, startled by the attack.
An arrow zipped past her head, thunking into the tree behind her. She turned to look at it, feeling its fletchings against her cheek.
"Truce," a male voice called.
"Truce," she answered. "And my apologies. I was hunting game."
The pale shape that had been unclear before stepped forward, her arrow in his hand. He wore untanned leather on his back, the reason she had mistaken him for a deer. "I'd hoped you weren't trying to kill me," he said, a smile on his dark bearded face. He was even ruddier than her brother and he had gotten their mother's dark colouring. Irene and most of the others looked like their father, the clan chief, with red hair and freckled skin.
"I hope I didn't scare off all the prey," he added.
She slid the arrow back into her quiver and tried to pull his from the tree. It didn't budge and he reached over her shoulder to grip the shaft. It remained stuck until his other hand came on the other side of her head, allowing him to brace on the tree and trap her against its trunk.
Ducking and spinning, she slid out from him. He pulled the arrow free, smiling as he put it away. "I am Owen of McGonall."
"I-Irene." McGonall. That wasn't the clan her father had been threatening her with, but it was one of their rivals, a powerful ally. She knew what he would want her to do, but there was no way she bowing to this man. She would never be tamed.
When she didn't leave, he continued to examine her, making her very uncomfortable. "The village is that way." She pointed and strode off. The need to kill came back fiercely and she pulled her knife. The bow wasn't enough anymore. She needed to use her hands.
A twig snapped behind her and she turned her knife slamming into his ear. The edge was sharp, but the blade was angled. She broke the skin but primarily slapped him with the flat. Blood gushed from wound and his eyes rolled up in his head.
Cussing she knelt beside him and pulled her sash from her tunic to hold to the wound. "How am I going to carry him home?" she wondered.

#FFF Flasher Fiction Friday - Cold, Hard and Perfect

Friday means Flashing. There are many pieces of 100 words based on this picture. Just visit the blog to read them all.

He had the best job in the world.

In the dark hours, when the streets were empty, he secluded himself with these idealizations of femininity. He undressed them and positioned them. With their bodies placed where and how he liked, he indulged himself. The ladies weren’t offended by his actions; they didn’t mind him using them. They didn’t judge his length or girth. They didn’t complain that he hadn’t gotten them off.

Rubbing himself on the warm resin, he marked body after body, then washed it all away and dressed the figures.

And he got paid to do it.

#ThursdayThrills - The Sunny Shore

Another Thursday Thrill. Hit the blog to read all the participating entries.

I moved the oar rhythmically, my heart and breath both moving in time with the pace Payton set. This was his boat, his hidden shore, his idea of a great date.
The tides were low and not rising again until well after sunset. We would be home by then. I hoped.
The urge to ask, "how much farther?" had been building over the last half hour. My resistance was wearing thin. I would be complaining soon and then he'd know what a wimp I truly was. Biting my tongue one more time, I dipped my oar.
"You're doing great," he said from behind me. "I thought you said you didn't row?"
I didn't answer. If I stopped rowing, stopped biting my tongue, I'd be whining in no time. Thankfully, he didn't take notice of my silence and returned to moving his oar. We didn't go more than a dozen strokes, however, when we turned at his direction. I looked over my shoulder and he smiled.
"You can rest now. I'll do the rest."
The relief had to be clear on my face. I pulled my oar in and slid it between us to lie on the flat bottom of the boat.

Carla Croft & Miyuki: The Silence of Deep Snow - Challenges make the story

Hi Angelica

Thank you for inviting me over to your blog to talk about my latest book Miyuki: TheSilence of Deep Snow (US).

You asked me before what was the hardest part of writing Miyuki. I have to say, it was getting the tone of the story just right. At first her character was quite mercurial. I would be writing away quite happily and then, her character would just change. New thoughts were entering my mind all the time. The language of the story was difficult. I found I had to tone a lot of the language down, as neither she nor Dominica, would use excessive amounts of rude words. Dominica uses the “c” word on one occasion, but that is to test a reaction from me in the story.

The planning was also difficult. I always spend a lot of time planning my stories. It allows me to get the structure nailed down to ensure consistency and to build the plot and characters, but, with Miyuki the planning went out the window a number of times. Eventually it all settled down, but I lost count of the number of times I had to start again. If you change just one tiny element of the story, you have to be very careful about the rest.

#TantalizingTuesday - Mano a mano

Check out all the Tantalizing Teasers by visiting the blog.

“What does being with a man feel like?”

Nicholas sighed quietly. “It's very difficult to describe. It is like a hundred fingertips tingling at once. Something pushing them apart.” That didn't sound bad. It didn't sound very good either.

“Would you like to try it?”

“No,” Terrance said quickly, jumping to his feet.

“As you wish. I think you might like it.”

Terrance didn't move, frozen on the spot.

“Sit down,” Nicholas urged. “I won't do anything you ask me not to.”

Terrance exhaled, feeling foolish. It wasn't as though Nicholas were simply going to mount him. “Of course. And I trust you, I'm just...”

“Confused?” Nicholas suggested.

“Yes.”

Terrance didn't bring it up again until the next cloudy day when the ladies stalked the deck alongside Kate. Terrance took the opportunity to keep Nicholas in the cabin, alone. Both were still naked, Nicholas' head resting in his cupped hands. Terrance propped himself up on an elbow and traced a finger down his nose and lips, leaning over to kiss the other man.

Good Enough to Trust - @zarastoneley is back!

Hi Angelica, and thanks so much for letting me stop by your blog today.

What inspired me to write this story?

Do you ever wish you could go back? I’m not a fan of regrets and dwelling on what might have been, I think we should always look to the future, but at certain times when I’ve gone back to old haunts I’ve half expected the people from my past to be there. Half hoped I’d be able to recapture a moment of happiness.
Our lives move so quickly these days, that sometimes we need to stop, revisit what has happened before, take a breather and let ourselves think!

I went back to Cornwall a few years ago, after not visiting for years, and it was the same, but different. For me, it has a magical air about it and that bit hasn’t changed – which made me think that maybe if you had issues, even though going back to a place that affected you might not give you the answers, maybe if it affected you in some way – made you stop, think, feel relaxed and happy, maybe it would give you the time and space you need to clear your head and make the decisions that need to be made…
So sitting in a tranquil spot, listening to a waterfall, I dreamt up Sophie!

GOOD ENOUGH TO TRUST (Good Enough, Book 2)
An erotic romance, including menage, M/F/M and sex outdoors.

Do you trust the boy you loved, or the man you might?
Sophie has only one thing on her New Year’s resolution list – sorting out her life.
Losing her parents was hard, blaming herself hurt more – but was it really her fault, or was accepting the guilt easier than facing up to the truth?
Retracing her steps was never going to be easy, risking her heart again is even harder - and when there's two men to choose from will it be easier to trust the man she's never stopped loving, or the one that might give her the new start she needs?
Available from - Amazon (UK), Amazon (US)

I parted my lips slightly and I could taste the salt on his skin, and it was a taste that made me hungry. Then before I could react, he leaned forward and his lips met mine, a light firm touch, that was soft and sweet but oh so demanding, because the taste of Ollie was one I’d missed so much.
He pulled back and looked, and my heart was hammering harder than it had when I’d been striding up that hill into the mist yesterday. So, obviously this wasn’t going to be the plain sailing I’d planned. For one, I’d never expected to see Ollie here, and for two— and boy, two was the worst bit —never thought I’d want him exactly the way I had when I was sweet seventeen. In fact I think it was worse because my hormones must have multiplied or something, I could have sworn I’d never felt this desperate.
But he’d left me, or rather I’d left him and he’d let me. I stroked my fingers along his cheekbone because I had to and those tawny brown eyes darkened before he jerked away and caught my hand.
“Maybe I should go.” Maybe coming here had been a mistake.
“And how will that help with the working out thing?”
I picked at the harsh grass at the side of me and didn’t say anything.
“Does Dane know you’re here?”
“No. Don’t tell him, will you? Please?”
Dane would go ballistic if he knew I was down here, I wasn’t sure of much, but I was of that. He’d told me off for running away from my problems, not facing up to myself, but he didn’t want me near Ollie. He’d made that clear, more than clear.
He didn’t answer, so I turned to look at him and as I did the wind whipped between us and I saw the thin long scar that snaked across his temple. I put a hand up instinctively to touch it, but he had my wrist in a grip stronger than anything I’d remembered. The boy had turned into a man.
I tried not to flinch. “Where did you get that?”
“Old war wound.” He released his grip slightly, but not so much that I could move or touch him.
“What kind of war?”
“Nothing.” He pushed my hand down, held it between us on the rock and it was then that I noticed the second scar that ran over his collar bone. “Battle scars.”
“Some battle.” They were proper scars, not just from a stumble and I didn’t like that I didn’t know about them.
“Forget it.” He was still holding my wrist, but when I wriggled he suddenly seemed to realise what he was doing, and he slowly uncurled his fingers. But his hand stayed there and I didn’t know whether it was to stop me touching his scars, or because he didn’t want to break the contact between us. “Do you know what you’re doing, Soph?”

Zara Stoneley has been writing stories for as long as she’s been reading them. She submitted her first novel, a thriller, to a UK publisher when she was twelve years old.

After moving on to romance, she started off writing contemporary romance with a bit of sizzle, and then discovered she liked hot and erotic too. Her erotic work has been published by Xcite Books and Breathless Press. She also writes contemporary romance under the name Susie Medwell, and her latest romance is due to be published by Lyrical Press 6th May 2013.

Zara loves her family, sunshine, wine, good food, caffeine, cats, music, writing and reading - but not necessarily in that order!

Saturday #afterdark - What do you see?

I got a little abstract on this one. Just something in the smoke. Be sure to check all the moments on the Blog.

She danced, her breasts thrust out, head tipped back. One leg kicked high, flaring the useless scrap that posed as a skirt. From this angle he could easily see up under it, where she was bare and beautiful. Teasing, she pulled her arm across the top of her head, throwing her hair over her face and obscuring it as she twirled. She spun faster, caught in the moment, the movement, the music.

She spun out of existence, replaced by a new lovely. This one rose slowly steadily, shoulders rounded and molding into prefect circular breasts. She rose higher, the curling forming two legs, spread and bent, open to him as an invitation.

A gust took her away and she was replaced by yet another.

Who needed real women? He was warm, relaxed, and they danced across his eyes without fault, without vice. No one was harmed, his wife wasn't slighted, and yet, he was oddly satisfied, enjoying each creature in her brief seconds of life.

#FFF Flasher Fiction Friday - Pull over

Welcome to another Flasher Friday, where a group of authors each write 100 words based on the same picture.

Corey glanced up at the rearview mirror. He shouldn’t have looked. He yanked the wheel to the right, out of the oncoming traffic he’d veered into.

He couldn’t be blamed. In the back, black skin slid over white. The two women hardly seemed separate any longer, breasts pressed together, legs tangled, and their lips. His eyes darted to the tiny mirror again, watching one pink-red tongue tangle with a red-brown one.

A horn honked and Corey straightened the car. White fingers started opening his pants. Black ones pulled up his shirt and played across his white skin.

“Pull over,” Portia insisted.

Spice It Up - @zarastoneley is smokin' hot!

Hi Angelica, and thanks so much for letting me stop by your blog today.

What inspired me to write this story? Well, for this one there’s a simple answer! I love Barcelona (in fact I’m off there this weekend) – there’s something about the atmosphere, the mix of the new and the old, and then there are the tapas bars...

One of my favourite pastimes is to sit at a bar, with a nice glass of red wine at hand, eyeing up the delicious pinchos (and trying not to eat too many!), people watching. Because a good bar or café is one of the best places a writer like me can be.

I was sitting in one of my favourite bars this time last year, watching one of the sexy waiters flirting with a customer and there was obviously some chemistry between them, which got me thinking…

I hope everyone enjoys reading the story as much as I enjoyed writing it – it was fun!

Spice It Up – an erotic novella

Food critic Ellie Chiltern isn’t happy when she’s sent to review Pinchos tapas bar, the waiter is more Birmingham than Barcelona and the tapas are as lukewarm as her last relationship. She’s struggling to find a positive, until she’s confronted by the only authentic piece of Spain in the bar – Lucas.

When Lucas Martinez sees Ellie, he realises she could be the final nail in the coffin – or the ideal person to help turn the place and its image around. But persuading her to trust him isn’t easy – especially when there’s something burning between them that’s far spicier than the food ever was.

Eighteen but not a man - Birthday #TantalizingTuesday

Tantalizing Tuesday is One Year Old!!! Make sure you visit the blog today for all the birthday goodness.

Tara danced for the boys. He might be eighteen today, but that didn’t make him a man. The only one of those watched her from the entrance to the hall.
While the boys’ eyes were glued to her breasts and hips, his cool gaze stayed on her face. The boys reminded her that she was undressed, but he made her feel naked, like he could see through to her soul.
At the end of the third track, she grabbed her coat in relief. The boys booed and begged for an encore, but the man in his forties hushed them.
Tara pocketed her IPhone and speaker while he held out a wad of twenties with a card on top.
“I’m sure you get this all the time, but I’d like to have dinner sometime. No expectations.” He continued to hold her gaze, his eyes searching hers.
She blinked, breaking the contact to focus on the salt and pepper stubble on his chin. “I’ll think about it,” she promised, putting the wad in her pocket.
He held the door for her and she heard, “Did you ask her out? You haven’t dated since Mo-”
Heat flushed her cheeks. When had she blushed last?

A bit tangental to birthdays, but there it is. I'm giving away a $20 gift cert for the Naughty Nights store. That will buy a LOT of ebooks. I only hope my Blue Moon House will be among them. And if you hold on to some until April 27th, you'll be able to grab my new release as well! (More news on that later...)

The Word Count Podcast - Photograph

I've participated again in the Word Count Podcast. I hope you'll visit the site and listen to all the stories, but if you don't have time, or you're just curious to read it, here is my submission for the latest episode, #29. It is a Blue Moon House story! I hope you like it.

I wandered through the scenes, taking only a quick note of each. The familiar mixed with the extreme, giving anyone unaccustomed to the lifestyle a sampling of where things began and where they could go.

The man strapped down to the pommel horse cried out as a cane connected with his thighs. His ass cheeks already glowed red. His black hair glistened as sweat trickled through. What caught my eye, however, was the red rope securing his wrists behind his back. It was a fine blend of silk and elastic, perfect for tightening as he strained without ever cutting into his skin. His wrists would be unblemished. Sadly, his backside could not claim the same.

Saturday #Afterdark - I want you

This story is a continuation of several Flasher Fiction Fridays. This is the first, then this, and this and this. Now that you're all caught up, let's see how Carey and Doug reconcile.

"You don't want me. You want those perfect girls with their perfect pussies."
"You are a perfect girl," Doug said, leaning toward her. He was so tentative, scared she'd run. "I love the way you look. If I had pictures of you, I'd never look at those other ones again." He stood up and paced around in front of her, another sign of his anxiety. "Fuck, when you kicked me out...well, you can ask Jerry, I was a wreck. I had no idea what I'd done wrong, but I wanted to do anything I could to fix it. Ally made me crawl," he continued, dropping to his knees. "She said I was a lecherous, selfish asshole and that you were better off without me. I think she's right. You'll be fine without me, but Carey, I'm not fine without you." His voice choked. He rubbed his stubbly face and bagged eyes. Carey had been so surprised to see him that she hadn't noticed how tired he looked, how strained.
"Doug? Are you okay?"

#FFF Flasher Fiction Friday - Can I please get dressed now?

Fridays are for Flashing! 100 words based on the same picture. Make sure you read them all.
Shivering, she placed a palm over one breast, cold where he'd licked it. He wore a shirt and coat while she lay here in next to nothing. Anything for the shot. Were her goosebumps really what he wanted?

He lowered the camera long enough to move her one hand lower and blow across her bare midriff. She shuddered again. "Are you almost done?" she whined.

"Almost," he promised, circling. "Shut up and smile for me."

It was better than most of her gigs. She had some clothes on and no one was trying to fuck her. Maybe she could manage a small smile.

#ThursdayThrill - Where are you?

Reposting my Thrill set in my hometown, Edmonton. We're hoping more of the group can participate this week. Make sure you check out all the other Thrills by checking out our blog.
Lynn wandered the hall. They should have been more specific. This place was huge. How would she ever find him in here. It didn't help that she'd never actually seen him before. Hitching her large purse up on her shoulder, she walked faster.

The purse reminded her of her purpose. It was filled with toys and outfits that she hoped would please her prospective master. Assuming she could ever find him. Tears began to collect in her eyes the farther she trotted. Her heels were killing her feet, but she didn't slow. No, instead she collided with someone, her purse falling to the ground just as she did.

"I'm so sorry," the man who had slammed into her said. That wasn't right, she had slammed into him. He was a middle aged man with a girl behind him, his daughter most likely. He offered her a hand and the girl ran to Lynn's bag.

"It was my fault. I'm in hurry. I'm meeting someone here."

"Your bag is heavy," the girl complained. lifting the strap to hand to Lynn.

Lynn's eyes widened, but thankfully, the zipper hadn't come undone. However, something must have bumped the buttons on one of the vibrators because it was definitely buzzing. Lynn snatched it quickly. "Yes, thank you." She began to run away, but the man caught her elbow.

"You're sure you're okay?" he asked again, warm brown eyes full of concern.

"Yes, but I'm late meeting someone," she said, trying to ignore the vibrating in her bag.

"I see. Have a great day." His hand slipped down to her own and squeezed it. An odd spark flared through her at the small, friendly gesture.

He turned and took his daughter's hand, wandering slowly down the aisle. Lynn stood staring for a second. She had never been interested in a vanilla relationship, but something about that man pulled at her. She cursed that she didn't know his name,

A new buzzing clashed against the other and she dug in a side pocket for her phone.

The text read, "I'm standing outside the waterpark, upper level. I will wait exactly three minutes for you."

She was just a few stores from the waterpark. She could see the signage. Stopping at a bench, she dug in her bag, found the offending toy, and turned it off. Then she raced down the hall to her new master. She still didn't know what he looked like, but in her mind he had warm brown eyes and a girl peeked out from behind him.

Hold My Hand as Romance Beckons - @palomabeck

I'm happy to host another author on my blog! We participate in several features together and she is the administrator of one of my Tribes. It really is past time I hosted her! Welcome Paloma Beck.
The first thing I noticed is that you have a separate section for your weekly features and your blog. Your blog focuses primarily on promoting other authors, and includes the occasional blog hop. Your weekly features are things like Saturday Spankings, Sexy Snippets and Hump Day Hook. Is there a reason you keep the two separate?

It just made sense to me. My features page has the three memes I post each week that have excerpts from my published books or works in progress. My blog has weekly memes that are for other purposes aside from excerpts. For example, every Tuesday I create a 200-word story from a photo as part of the Tantalizing Tuesday group. These will unlikely become a book but is still a fun way to show my art of writing. Then I also host guest authors on my blog every Thursday and Friday. I try once every week or so to post a “Paloma’s Roadtrips” update about where I’ve been on the world wide web and what I’ve been up to.

The division does seem clear. Do you find you dilute your readership by pointing them in two different directions?

#TantalyzingTuesday - Curious Kitten

Another Tantalizing Teaser from the soon to come Prequel to Blue Moon House, Kitten. Jocelyn and her curiosity! Make sure you read all the other 200 word teasers on the blog.

Her biggest question, which came every time her eye landed on the spike in the ceiling, was why they played with their prey.

There was one thing she could answer, one thing she did know. She didn't want to leave. Go home for a few days, fine, but she did not want to be asked to leave and not return. If that meant trusting these strange creatures, they'd done nothing to betray that trust. If it meant being obedient, well, she'd have to practice, that was all.

She expected the puzzling, added to the late hour, would make her sleepy, but it didn't. The house became quiet, but still she sat.

Frustrated, she opened her door and peeked into the hall. There were a few lamps giving very dim illumination, but it was enough that she felt confident following the wall. Her curiosity would one day get the better of her, but so far, it had still only brought her good things. As she passed the parlor, she heard sounds again. They led her to a staircase. At the base of the stairs she could hear much more clearly what was happening above. It sounded like her kind of party.
